Brighton Tactical

Brighton Tactical is the firearms training side of Forever Young Associates, LLC, serving Western Adams County and Southeast Weld County, Colorado. We focus on the responsible use of self defense methods so our clients can protect what is important to them.

Training covers the whole path, from someone who has never held a firearm to an experienced shooter sharpening a specific skill: Basics of Pistol Shooting, Basics of Rifle Shooting, Concealed Handgun Permit classes, Colorado Parks and Wildlife Specified Semiautomatic Firearms Safety training, women only classes, Range Safety Officer, Emergency First Aid Fundamentals, advanced pistol and marksmanship training, non-lethal self defense, and private lessons for individuals or groups.

Your instructor

Terry Young served in the U.S. Navy, where he learned to shoot the .45 ACP Model 1911, the M1 Garand rifle, and the .50 caliber machine gun. He went on to spend 15 years in law enforcement, working with the .357 revolver, the 9mm semi-automatic pistol, the 12 gauge shotgun, and the AR-15.

His teaching background runs just as deep. He has taught CPR and First Aid, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) courses, and CERT Train the Trainer, and he served as a university professor. That shapes how every class is run: safe and responsible firearms handling, competent shooting, and a day students actually enjoy.

Terry is a Verified Concealed Handgun Permit Instructor through the Adams County Sheriff's Office. Under Colorado statute that verification allows him to teach CHP classes anywhere in the state. He is a USCCA member, and Brighton Tactical is a USCCA Official Partner.

Where we train

Classes are held primarily at indoor ranges within roughly 25 to 30 miles of Brighton, Colorado. We also have access to outdoor ranges and to a range with covered shooting lanes and outdoor targets. Locations outside that radius are considered case by case, so ask.

Firearm transfers and purchases

Terry is an FFL focused on private transfers of firearms. If you already know what you want to buy, he will also search online sources to find you the best price he can.
